  • Essay 1 -- For the first task, you read and take notes. The passage is then removed and the lecture begins. You will be able to read the passage again when it is time to write. You will have 20 minutes for your written response. You will NOT use your personal opinion, but write based on the relationship between the reading and the lecture.   You must answer a question discussing the key points in the lecture and explaining how they relate to those in the reading passage.
