In the Writing section of the iBT TOEFL you have two tasks:
Read a passage, listen to a lecture, and then answer questions based on what you have read and heard.
Essay 1 --
For the first task, you read and take notes. The passage is then removed and the lecture begins. You will be able to read the passage again when it is time to write. You will have 20 minutes for your written response. You will NOT use your personal opinion, but write based on the relationship between the reading and the lecture. You will be required to write 150 to 225 words.
Answer a question based on your own knowledge and experience.
Essay 2 --
For the second task, you will answer the question based on your personal opinion and experience. You will have 20 minutes and are required to write 150 to 225 words.
